Google Workspace Tips to Help You THRIVE As An Entrepreneur

As Virtual Executive Assistants, we're always looking for ways to make our lives a little easier or to be a little more efficient. One of my favorite tools to help me do so is Google!

Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Google Profiles are just three of the many Google tools we use to stay on task and organized.

If you’re looking for a few simple hacks to implement in your business to help keep you on track, read below for some of our very favorite Google Workspace tips!

Google Drive Tips for Comments

Tip #1: Look at a list of Google documents to see where you’ve been assigned to do a task in the comments.

It's always important to be aware of what tasks and projects you are responsible for, and it's especially important to be well-organized when you're collaborating with other people. One way that I do this is by looking at a list of Google documents where you've been assigned something to do via comments.

There are two ways for you to look at Google documents and the comments where you’re assigned tasks:

  1. Open your Google Drive homepage and click the button to the right of the search bar, then change the ‘Follow-up’ drop down arrow to ‘Any’.

2. Type ‘followup:any’ in the Search bar.

Every document that is listed has a comment that is assigned to you!

Creating Google Profiles

Tip #2: Use Google Chrome profiles to keep track of different accounts.

We love using Google Chrome profiles to manage various Google accounts and keep them separate! That includes multiple clients, work and personal, etc.

No more commingling your autofill home address with your clients’ and worrying about sending something to the wrong place! You can keep each profile info separate - like bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings.

So, how do you do it?

  1. On your computer, open Google Chrome.

  2. At the top right, click on the ‘profile’ icon (see photo).

  3. Click ‘add’.

  4. Choose a name, photo, and color scheme.

Bonus Tip: If you choose to sync your Google Account, your profile name will automatically be your account name.

There are endless ways to use Google tools to help you organize your day and coordinate your work tasks, your business partners, your calendar, and MUCH much more. Follow our Instagram @elevatevas to stay up to date with all of our favorite Google Workspace tips.
